The Galatz\u00f3 estate is located in the north of the municipality of Calvi\u00e0 and is entirely within the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, which have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Galatz\u00f3 is one of Mallorca\u2019s largest estates, covering 1401 hectares. Its geographic features provide a unique and magical setting with the Puig de Galatz\u00f3 mountain dominating the landscape and a valley enclosed by a complex system of hills and mountains, along with the fertile land alongside the Torrent de Galatz\u00f3 stream. <\/p>\n
Galatz\u00f3 offers a very good example of the range of vegetable communities that characterise Mallorca\u2019s rural landscape. Some of the most interesting plant species from a beekeeping point of view are : asphodels (Asphodelus spp.), rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis), Echium (Echium spp.), clover (Trifolium\/Lotus sp.), common myrtle (Myrtus communis), grey-leaved cistus (Cistus albidus), Montpellier cistus (Cistus monspeliensis), many-flowered Mediterranean heather (Erica multiflora),Mediterranean thistles (Galactites tomentosa), Mediterranean buckthorn (Rhamnus alaternus), holm oak (Quercux ilex), and on the fertile we find land fruit trees like oranges (Citrus sinensis), almonds (Prunus dulcis) and carobs (Ceratonia siliqua). <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
