The estate has an area of 25 hectares and its most important distinguishing features are its rural setting consisting of major possessions (country estates) such as Monn\u00e0ber Vell, its lush holm oak woodland of great ecological and scenic value and its numerous intermittent springs.<\/p>\n<h2>Botanical origin<\/h2>\n<p>Santiani is characterised by a notable variety of environments, soil and terrain types, which provide an exceptional substrate for establishing varied and complex plant cover. From a beekeeping perspective, the following melliferous or pollinating plants stand out: brooms (Genista sp.); vetches (Vicia sp.); the colourful asphodels (Asphodelus spp.), which can become dominant while flowering; clovers (Lotus spp.); many-flowered heath (Erica multiflora); Mediterranean buckthorn (Rhamnus alaternus), which form shrubs of considerable size; and orange trees (Citrus sp.).
