The Son Real property is located in the municipality of Santa Margalida, on the north-east coast of Mallorca and covers an area of 380 hectares. Adjacent to the sea, the estate includes archaeological remains unique in the western Mediterranean, and a dune system with vegetation specially suited to its marine location. Son Real stands out for its beautiful coastline of untouched beaches where one can enjoy the many spectacular tones of blue that characterise the Mediterranean Sea.
The floristic uniqueness of Son Real is due to the presence of sandy soils that mark the floral diversity of the estate. In these coastal environments, the vegetation of interest to bees is clover (Lotus/ Trifolium spp.), alfalfa (Medicago spp.), Saint Ponç herbs (Teucrium spp.), rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis), thistles (Galactites tomentosa), albons (Asphodelus spp.), white steppes (Cistus albidus), lemongrass steppes (Cistus monspeliensis), lampudols (Rhamnus alaternus), sedges (Euphorbia spp.) and cypresses (Erica multiflora). In the inland part of the estate, where the soil has a different composition, there is almond trees (Prunus dulcis) and carob trees (Ceratonia siliqua).
